okay we had the hyphy battle and ive had numerous hyphy battles on the internet and ive had soooo many people tell me my beats are not "as hyphy" as the producer im against and i just wanted to let it be known that, yes, oakland california created hyphy... and yes hyphy does not mean just a droop-e or ric roc beat there is hundreds of other sick ass producers in the bay that produce "hyphy" or "bay" music and it doesnt always sound like "tell me when to go" or "fast like a nascar" its way broader than that

yea i feel wut u sayin, cuz alot of ppl say its not hyphy or bay music cuz it sound like those, but me personally, i like bay music because its different...for instance young l...young l has the best style to me, cuz he makes the weirdest sound into a beat.

see the industry turned hyphy into somethin it wasnt even really was in the place,tell u the truth... they just put a label on our whole lifestyle and now to tell u the truth the shit is so commercialised that were gonna come out with some new shit!

I never really understood hyphy. Nate since you posted this thread why dont you find a resource on how hyphy origionated and what it is exactly and the particular sounds used and give us a link so well be more educated to the sounds or scene-That would help alot!

i mena hyphy is just a word or label used by the media and the industry to describe and try to pinpoint the bay areas (mainly Oakland) lifestyle of swingin cars (town biznes)... shakin dreads... scrapers old , schools, man cats out here will put a car with front wheel drive on some milk crates and swing the shit out that mugg(hittin donuts)... You dont need a link to any resources cuz i live it anything u wanna know holla at cha boy

basically yea hyphy was really just a word to describe an easily exciteable person, its kinda like the word hyper active ... somebody thats quick tempered or just wild... but now its used to describe the whole lifestyle

Hyphy is New To Me and I Been Listing Bay Area Artists Since The Early 90's. If I Made Say A JT Tha Bigga Figga Style Track No One Would Call It Hyphy. Matter of Of Fact If You Played any record not made in last couple years from e40 or whatever bay Artist, They Would Say The Same Thing That aint Hyphy. Most My Favorite rappers came out the bay but like 10+ Years Ago. Rappers Like.. Spice 1, RBL Posse, Young Lay, Mac Mall, Little Bruce, Richie Rich, Dru Down, The Luniz,
B-Legit, Rapin 4 Tay, The List Goes On. But I Mean are Any These Artists Hyphy? I dont Think So, Maybe Now Days, but that the sound that put them on the map.
