Why do new producers always try to step in the game by comparing their self to a Top Named Producer? You all ready lost if this is you! Tell me why an artist would purchase your Neptune,Timbo, or who-ever sounding beat, when they could go and purchase an actual beat from them? Im not trying to hate on no one, Im just saying lets be Realistic here. Thats whats wrong with the Music Industry Today... To many sound alikes.I know sometimes ppl cant help it not to sound like others because sometimes ppl do have similar habits and its a race to the finish-line to put your Idea out there first! Basically all Im sayin is no matter what others say, Set yo style different from the rest and be confident in your work![b]

at first i had my own style but then those beats got no attention...so i tryed to make beats like others but better...now everyone wants my beats..not to say i make sales or anything but i've been working hard to make sales and if i gotta sound like someone else so be it ABC = ALL BOUT CAKE

All Producers have there own sound, but its also a catch 22. A tight Producer can accompany to any style, any place anytime. Were in a business to make money. This has been going on since the beginning of music Jimmy Hendrix made the guitar talk, then everybody jumped on board, The Beastie boys with the 808 drop that everyone uses today, shit t-pain & the auto tune, I got a boy here in Michigan thats been using that way before I heard T Pain.

We go where the money is at, We all do still get down on our own style but it's nice when lets say (EXAMPLE)
Jive records approaches you & says I like your style but we need 20 beats like lil Jon, 10 beats like timbo, or 5 beats like Jay Z....who knows after its all said & done the might say now what you got....

i had a lightweight discussion with blakngold a few days ago about somethin simular to this. Every1 kno's that todays music all sounds the same, but this is what people want at this time, its supply and demand. And like pressure said, when alot of us try to use our own special style it doesn't get as much attention. Everything seems to be compared to industry standards, and if your not making what the industry is making then your out of luck. Am i the only one that notices this but doesn't it seem like underground artist are more willing to work with more "new school" type beats then mainstream artist?

we can go on & on about the do's and don't about the biz... but when it all boils down, We in this for the love, the long haul, & to get PAID!

I know I love my style of beats, but my style aint sellin at this moment, so If they want (mainstream) I'll create it for (mainstream) just keep doing what yall do, there'll be a time & a place for it all...

??? we all have our own style. when you make any type of beat, your style is always incorporated.

i like what ya sayin right here. i don't compare myself to anybody. honestly im not even a battler with the beats. I think my style is unique with some of my tracks. im still learning though. By the way you got some heat on ya beats. keep it up. take care and god bless.1

I feel What you saying also, but in the same token it gonna really come down to artist, and what they feel.And if they trying to chase a record deal, some of the new and up coming artist are going to conform to industry standards.

My style is a unique style. At first not too many were trying to get at me, but now it's changing. I dont have any sales through here, but I know that my style is getting a bit more respect. I can make an industry style track, but it makes me feel like I'm cheating myself. But like some say in this forum - we gotta get paid! I agree, but I'm sticking to my style.

its almost like this...the critics dont care what you made the beat on, nor care who made it, aslong as it sounds good...today alot of music is similar ya cause people will hear somethin they like and adapt that style to their producing...not sayen go an copy beats but aslong as you got a dope catchy beat that is yours, thats all that counts.

I see what Pressure is talking about! As for why would some one buy a timb track from john doe on this site... I can give you about a $80,000 reason! These are much cheaper. In an age where cd's aren't selling as much. Why would someone spend half of their budget on one track from timb when they can buy a fraction and spend the rest on promotion or a new ride for the video, lol!
