i vote to get extra credits, but i also vote for what is better in my opinion, and everyone has different opinions...But i usually like unsampled beats unless the sampled beat is sick...You know what im sayin

I always vote for what I feel is the better beat. I agree with DJTK, I vote more for beats with no samples, unless it's stuy! I vote more for a original piece though.

GENRE.variety, melody, arrangement. thats all you should be considering in a vote.

much agreed on them samples fella's, If your gonna chop & skrew it recut it with your own vocals.

But ORIGINAL beats all day, If Ive done it or if some one else has played the same melody (ex. Phyco Theme song, or Phantasium). been done hundreds of times.
CONTENT STRUCTURE,intro, chorus, verse placement. SOUND QUALITY IS A MUST! if it sounds like ish I wont vote it crisp clean highs & strings, tight non clashing bass lines, & Damn it Its gotta Feel good!

The way i vote...

First of all I never look at the recent votes first, becuz that a make you slide some time...

so i go to the battle...

listen to the beat

1-make sure they are on the right genre<<<MOST IMPORTANT

2- then i make sure the beat is on rhythm, and the drums are not off beat...

3- i find what i like about the beat, and dislike,
then let the producer know how i feel...

4-then i pick the best one...

Dont take losing a Beat battle close to heart...cause to be real most people vote for just credit...so that they can battle....but most of us are here to learn more about music....and learn some new tricks.....myself i try and vote for the beatz that:

1. Grabs my ear if u dont have me hook'd by 15 sec.i may
not like it.(but still listen to the whole thing)
2. Sounds...use sounds that are easy to listen to and not out dated...dont get it twisted some out dated sounds done right can set a beat off....
3. levels just because u turn up a sound doesnt mean itz going to sound good.....learn to mix shit down.
4. i dont play Favz at all...unlike some battle websites....and im not naming any names.....
5. Rhythum....easy think of it this way can hear someone rapping on it or singing on if not dont post it...we are here to sell beats to artist. Not Cartoons and video Games.
6. Genre....do ur research....dont make a RNB cut for a hardcore battle study up on ur music yes i do this shit because itz fun but like everyone one here we are waiting for that day when we are a house hold name....

Like meny of ur and myself this is my life...i cant see myself doing anything else but writing songs, making beatz, and producing.....i wake up 7 in the morning and head right to da lab and have the time i dont leave till itz time for work...after work right back to the lab till 1 in the morning....hell yeah im sleeply as hell but....i love it......step ur game up

i think almost everyone votes to get battle credits, but they choose the beat, that in their opinion is better.. that's at least how i see it

Im from the North right? So Im all about that raw Dj sounding feel. Samples give that feel as if it were an ill DJ chopping it up and thats what I like.

Crisp drums set it off to me. I usually wont vote for anything simple.

If your not going to use samples, you have to take car when choosing those sounds, the synths have to be tweaked to fit the song. The strings have to sound realistic if thats what the track calls for.

Cats interpolating with their own instruments and backgrounds beneath a sample always win to me fam.

The first thing we should look at is genre! Then do you like the track. Do you like the other track. Then its time to dissect the and listen to mix, arrangements, sounds and overall feel. Theres really no need to vote for credits there are so many battles that if you vote on them you will have enough i have about 300 credits. I vote on just about everything.

I voted based on a curved handicap. First I take the producers name into consideration. Is it generic is it creative. Then I assign a number on a scale that resembles the Dewey decimal system. After I've determined my first value I set it aside and then look at the producers picture. If i like the picture I give a 1 if I hate it I give -1. At this time I scroll down and look to be influenced by other voters votes. unfortunately their are many silent votes so I scroll back up having not been swayed by any opinions. At this point I click on the beat of the producers name I liked most first. Then I break it down how many instruments did he use. Then I determine How many percussion sounds he uses. I add or deduct a point if I like the snare I add or deduct 3.981 points if I like the Kick or 808. Then I break out my abacus just to look at it like damn Im the only nigga alive with one. Then i put it back. I calculate the second value and divide it by the first value and multiply my sum based on the bpm of the opponents beat. At this time i open up a daw and another program that help me to determine the peak decibel of a beat. If the beat goes over once It's a .471 deduction if it goes over at more then five points I deduct 8.351 points from the final sum. This is how I vote I don't vote based on melody and drums That would be ridiculous.

Genre first for sure....

then I make sure its of decent quality..then I listen to the sound and vibe of it and which one grabs me the most...

now this doesnt decide it b/c if its the same shit over and over every 4 or 8 bars and the other beats has changeups and breakdowns but has a better sound or vibe..that doesnt mean shit..its about effort and creativity. In the end whichever track has more work put into it...will usually get my vote.

Def. genre is the first thing I look at, then whoever has the &quot;better&quot; beat. By better I mean, best composition for original beats, and hottest integration of a sample in a beat. I (now) make sure not to look at what other people have put because (like bigdawg said) it may sway my vote some.
