It's hard as hell for me to synch up my samples with the tempo I want. Am I just cutting my samples wrong, or is there something else?
Download this program called MixMeister, it gives you the exact tempos for any song that your looking for. Saves time as well.
While the MixMeister is a great program, sometimes the tempos are not detected right. I might play the sample in iTunes and tap the tempo in FL at the same time to detect the tempo on my own. First I'd restretch all audio clips except the sample to fit the tempo of the sample, then allign the wave sample against my patterns, zoom in all the way and notice thats the end of the sample is not on the money. In order to be able to restretch the tempo without losing original tone of the samples the FL's sampling option has to be set to Pro Transient. In order to activate that option I'd have to stretch the sample by grabbing the end on a full zoom lil off the end point wait until it restretch (longer samples take about 1 min to restretch) and then restretch back to the actual end point.
Then I'd allign the start of the wave against the start of the pattern and see what is the difference at the end of the pattern. Then I'd use both my eyes and ears to see where I have to move the end pont of the wave, and while adjusting the tempo I'd see the wave move to its right location. Its all it is, just a lil tempo difference like 1, 2 bpm or even x of a thousand, more or less.
The way I described is easy but has to be carafully organized. It works for me very well. I have used this method to make all the remixes and you can hear for yourself that it works great.

Post edited by: DIVINE CITY, at: 2007/10/23 00:39
