Who in here works tha keys like an exercise addict? I listen to some of these cats melodies and im thinking to myself, do these dudes only have 3 fingers? Im not saying you got to make complicated melodies but really, when ur beats are too simple ur not doing much. U gotta tell ur keyboard who's boss and take advantage of what u have at hand. So what do all of you think? Who's really testing the limits of tha keys? Who's just trying to come up with plain, too damn easy melodies?

BUT I HAD A LOT OF BUYERS. ASK ME CAN I MAKE SOME SIMPLE BEATS FOR THEM 2 BUY!

You know you can use ur pc keyboard that you type on???/ thats what I use...then I jsut use my mouse t input the melody in the piano roll.

I understand that simplicity is tha key but simplicity can be found in complexity even if tha buyer is unaware of this. Timbaland has complex drum patterns and simple melodies so he's found a balance. Dr. Dre does tha real simple drums and probably focuses more on memorable melodies. Don't u think if u mix complex with simple just right you'll sell even more? Look at J Mack, he's got tha mixture down.

yea what makes timbalands beats so complex is his percussion patterns and yea maybe a good mix would have a better chance of selling but it also needs a catchy melody, also its all about recreating sounds that sound new and good .... oh yea and arrangements (which is kinda hard doing online and selling through sites like this, but its probably easier doing it in person cuz then the rapper can give you feedback on the beat and tell you how he`d prefer it)

Im okay at the keys, it gets me enough to make a pretty complicated melody...But killah, i used to do that when i first started but then i found out my keyboard had a midi plug...now im with REASON!!! But your beats are pretty good for just a mouse and fl 7...

haha killah J.. i do the same thing often but iam practicing the keys first before i really publizise somthing.. but blakngold u make a good point.. beats that have more going on are better but some artist just prefer simple melodies.. i dont get y but..

You can make a master piece but what the consumer wants is simplicity I had to tone down a lot. I can get down if I have too.
