Ive Been With Fl Studio Forever And Still Using It Now.I Have Reason But No Keyboard So Ive Been Using Fl Intell I Get Keyboard.SO FL GET 10/10 from me.

I been using FL since 5 now im on 7. I just started using Reason just for its sounds but the work horse is FL reason being the slave. You can have the best of both worlds. The simplicity of FL and the sounds of Reason. My trick is I have a midi patch bay and I use hardware too. Ofcourse I have VSTs too.

Oh, one more thing! You just cant put a beat together in FL with out going to the mixer and adding some magic to the sounds! Learn the compressors, eq's, limiters!

I never use stock sounds, I have about 110GB(thats right, 110G of samples that I use often, and I still aint got enough.

Thats pretty tight XG, i only have like 15 GB, but i dont even use most of them...And FL aiint bad, it probably the simplitcity of the program that makes people mad at it i guess...I use reason, but FL was the first program i used and it helped me a lot...I only moved to reason cause of the sounds...And i really like the mixing on it for some reason...And can someone check out my techno/dance song on myspace and tell me if it is tight??? www.myspace.com/djtk2

I use fruity too, but I never use the standard sounds.. I used to use soundfonts but now I mostly use vsti's in combination with cut samples (for the drums)

FL Studio is one of the dopest DAWs out. period.
In its price range, it's the illest.
any beatmaker who uses anything in it's stock, form deserves what they get.

find yaself a nice lil brush off a old jazz album, (thats really the only place you'll catch one diggin, otherwise you'd have to record a live drummer)
and layer that with your snares, damn near all pre-packed snares have been truncated so theuy lose all their ring, but a "natural" snare rings, so to recapture that "natural" or "real" sound, you have to replace the ring...
go into your performance timing options, you can shift each individual note, on the button seq and in the piano roll.
you can use built in tools to program flams, chords, all kinds of shit, FlS is wide open, the only limit is your knowledge of the tool in front of you and your imagination.
cats should never know what you using just by what your shit sounds like, and when cats ask me what I use, they reveal themselves, cuz just like many wise people have said in this very thread, whats protools without skills?
