This is so true. I don't use FL Studio but isn't all about the finished product. I know plenty of people that use FL and they makes some hot joints. If every one used the same programs/equipment, we would all sound the same. And i feel you on getting VST's for the program. But, that's how everything is when you pull it out of the box. You have to add your own sounds and personality to it to develop your own sound. Bottom line is DO YOU!!!! and DO YOU well.

I use FL as well, but with no plug-ins and vst or watever u guys are talking about. Call me a rookie or watever, I've only been at this for about 2 and a half yrs now but I just REALLY know how to tweak wat i have. And as long as u grab your own sounds/drum kits.. i dont really see the problem. I still have TONS of learning to do. I'm doin ok rite now tho haha. Check out my beats.

Ima say this. First, if you get FL studio you HAVE TO get VST's for better sounds and for better effects. Either that or get a pro board so you can record into it. If you listen to my beats .. youll never be able to tell they were made in FL studio. I dont use anything stock in FL at all. I record my fantom and other hardware into it. Thats all. FL studio is the most user friendly production softwares made and if you know how to use it youll sound just as good or better then people who use any other program.

REMEMBER!! IT ISNT THE GEAR YOU USE.. ITS THE WAY YOU USE IT.

A person can have a million dollar studio but if they dont know shit about music production and music theory then its just a waste of money. The gear doesnt make the quality. The man behind it makes the quality.

Im tired of readin people hating of FL just because. Yeah there are alot of FL beats that suck but only because the people usin it sucks.

My boy EPIK the Dawn uses FL studio.
I use FL Studio
My boy Kooman uses FL studio
My boy Purple Ent. uses FL studio
9th Wonder uses FL studio

the list goes on and on and on.

Stop judging programs. Judge the people using them.

Ill battle anyone who uses protools or Cubase or Reason or whatever else. I OWN ALL THEM PROGRAMS. I KNOW HOW TO USE ALL THEM PROGRAMS. I just use FL cuz its easier and faster. I dont mess with midi anymore. ALL AUDIO.

If anyone needs help with anything let me know. Im working on a bunch of tutortial vids for youtube. Using midi and how to hook your gear up to FL studio and even how to record audio into FL studio.

Thanks for readin now go and make some crack music.

~1 love in music.

Yea that's tru! I would be interested in your help in Fl. I record sounds from my triton into FL but as midi. Then I record the sounds into the FL mixer therefore creating the AUDIO sound. Don't know if you know what I mean. I was wondering if there is a way to directly record the sounds from my Trition keyboard into FL as AUDIO? I was told that FL only read MIDI.

I have another question. Is there a way to record vocals in FL? I am doing a sound effect with my voice so its going to be something short. I am not recording vocals for a 3 min song...Let me know!

Thanks!!

I agree with you 100%. I started with FL Studio and now I have also added Reason into the mix. It's all about knowing your hardware/software. If you stick with the stock sounds in FL Studio and never expand the sound library, then yes, chances are your tracks will be subpar, but not always. Again, it's all about working with what you have. I have found that Reason seems to have slightly better sound quality, but that's just my opinion. Either way you go, both programs are great. Peace!

I just posted a tutorial on how to control your keyboard (well the fantom X6) in FL with midi. I dont do that but people always ask so I made a vid. It shows how to control the audio from your keyboard with fL Studio. Part 2 is commin soon and will be "how to record audio into FL Studio"

I get literally 100 messages a day on YouTube from people asking me how to do it. If you search "Buzzhawg" on YouTube you can watch my videos.

I have hardware equipment and soft equipment. It all depends on my mood. If I want to hurry up and make something FL or triton. If I have time then I go through pro tools and use midi. I agree on the comment about its how you use your equipment. I'm pretty sure just about everyone here can look back at the equipment they started with and giggle!
