any1 running the latest version of Pro Tools 7.4? I'm mainly curious about the elastic time .. is it worth the $75 upgrade?

itz deffinatley worth it...but i think you should juss keep savin your money and get HD its expensive but its deff. worth it.

yea that'd be nice .. but HD starts at about $8K. A lil too much for my project studio.

yea i know thatz y i said save up, if you look on ebay and shit you cand get a complete HD set up for maybe around 6k

logic's aight i personally prefer protools. mainly for da compatibility.
but i love the fact that its mad user friendly.
i make my beats in FL 8XXL and Reason 4, but i do all my mixing sequencing and effets in pro-tools and all da recording (Vocals, Live Instruments...ect...)

Yeah it seems to be industry standard now since everyone is using ProTools but it's too expensive considering Logic comes with so much for only $399. I hear protools on a PC is of course not nearly the same stability or quality you're going to get in an Apple product (though I've never owned an Apple product in my life save for an iPod). Just my 2 cents MacOSX 10 runs it's own flavor of BSD which is a flavor of UNIX so it's why Mac's are much more stable, efficient with resources, less prone to viruses, and for the most part are less prone to any kind of crashing or memory race conditions.

and itz da same quality on my homies mac...
i like windows he likes mac

Yeah XP SP3 with a good power supply/mobo is pretty damn stable I have to say (at least I've had no problems). Just like a car or anything though it's all about how you maintain your PC and the software on it. I've been in the computer biz for almost 14 years now so I'm pretty savvy with that stuff not to be cocky or anything.
