It depends is great to master both sampling is dope but the whole thing of what make sampling dope is when you really digging and gettin samples that the typical producer might not have and flippin it crazy i think the thing why sampling is wack cause niggas is too lazy to dig for rare shit and expose some musicians it's was so much soul singers and jazz musicians that is no such thing as having every record sampling will play a important part but i must that guy Dj Khalil from the aftermath staff does a real good job doing beats from scratch buy having musicians come and do music so he could chop it pretty unique similar what i did fly guy the song i flip is actually a sample but people would think is a beat from a keyboard check it out and also cops some of my beats www.myspace.com/eaofficialmusic

I have to agree with skip but my heart is in original compositions - sampling just doesn't feel right to call it your own in my mind

Once in a blue I will use a sample myself, . . . but i refuse to use the sample to be the significance of the music(i.e. cut, copy, loop). I tend to try to find more unconventional ways to use the sample. Most of the time i give up on it becuase it doesn't feel original. It doesn't hurt to master, but if thats the only thing you do or you rely on it, then you cant call yourself an instrumentalist. Your still a fan.

This is to nobody in particular just what i think. I am new to the site and wanted to comment. I feel like everybody has to be themselves I use samples but I compose my samples I very rarely play a sample back just as it is in the orginal composition. I take bits and put them together to make a whole new concept that is my own I just needed some sounds. It is like a piano player he is not the orginal creator of the sounds created by the piano however he uses it to create sounds that he plays in his using the piano. I do the same with samples.
