For all those who still don't know, the DJ is the back bone of Hip Hop. The formula is as simple as this, No DJ, NO PARTY!!!! IPods can't do it alone. Have you ever been to a party/show and heard a rapper on stage performing without any music? Before you wreck your brain, the answer is no. Why, A rapper can't move the crowd without a beat. The crowd can't dance to words alone. It doesn't matter how good your are on the mic. One verse might make people say damn Ooh and Ahhh, but after a few verses, it all starts to sound the same.
It's the DJ who keeps the party going in between sets. Most DJ's are and make the best Music Producers. When you spin at clubs, you see what tempos people react to the most. You get a feel for what records the ladies like and you know what makes the thugs want to tear the club up. You get to hear how low end on the records you play sounds in different environments. You learn how to translate that same feeling in your records. Now ask yourself Rappers, do you really want to play yourself? You can lose your swag as soon as you think you got it by disrespecting a DJ.To all you Rappers that get arrogant, remember this, if we don't play your records, no one will hear you or give a damn about who you are. If we don't produce your records, what the hell do you have? Good Producers (not beat makers) and DJs don't come a dime a dozen. Show us some respect because We run this shit!! Don't ever forget it.
